He has spoken on behalf of and advocated for his patients on a national level, including at Capitol Hill.
Dr. McDiarmid is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, and endovascular medicine, with additional certifications in adult comprehensive echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, and cardiovascular computed tomography.

Outside of the hospital, he enjoys collegiate wrestling and being active with his Fiancée. They both enjoy skiing, hiking, SCUBA diving, and taking their dog Eva on trails. They are also self-proclaimed foodies and love visiting local restaurants.
